Hi,

Was just perusing some of the "older" titles, and--is it me, or is there no message board/forum spot to comment on the AWESOME comic lookalike 1982 issue of the movie tie-in for CREEPSHOW? Man, I loved that when I was eleven or twelve...I'll never forgive my uncle Butch, the tireless reader and natural book thief, who took this home to read over a weekend and lost forever. I've never replaced it--and now it's quite the collector's item, by the listed prices on eBay and other sites. Dammit!

Anybody else pick this up as a pre-teen, for something like seven or eight bucks, brand new?!

Have contacted Jordan to add Creepshow to the Other Works section. Can't believe we missed that one--good catch!

I have seen a few copies at our local bookstore. They sell for around $5 here.

Buy all they have and I will double your money then sell them for $50 bucks anywhere in the nation (actually I would hoard them in my treasure trunk). bobbo is correct. If they are originals and not reprints (not aware of any) then they sell for higher than even most precode ECs. Try buying an original Creepshow poster and you will get your feelings hurt fast. Creepshow 2 can be had affordably but it's not the one everyone wants naturally. I wasn't aware that Berni Wrightson did the artwork for Creepshow until I had the unique (ha) idea to buy one. I tip my hat to whoever hired him. They knew horror comics.

I did! I remember getting it for my 12th birthday in 1982. I still have it as well.

I bought this when it came out. Still have it, and love it. Did not realize copies of this comic are costly these days. Mine isn't in the best condition, although it is very good. All I care about is that it can be read and enjoyed.

What destroys me is that there are no more Creepshow comics. Come on, we can't have a few more issues, seriously? King doesn't need to write them, just offer up some ideas for others to adapt. His sons could even do the writing duties. If licensing rights are an issue, then either trade King's involvement in another entry for the rights, or, probably easier, simply come up with another EC tribute title and mascot. Call it Tales From the Bangor Boogeyman (or maybe more streamlined: Tales From Bangor), draw a caricature of King as a Crypt-Keeper-type telling stories from a haunted-house version of his mansion, and publish at will. I love horror anthology comics with creepy hosts, there can never be enough of them (although I prefer the old EC/50s style). I'm looking quite forward to the annual Simpsons Treehouse of Horror comic book, in fact.

Preachin to the choir, bubba. I've often wondered that myself. My guess is that the rights are all screwed up (at least where the movies are concerned). That, and maybe King just doesn't care for the work.

Would love to see some new issues of CREEPSHOW in the shops. While I'm wishin, I think it'd be cool if they used good old newsprint, like a real go**am comic. Have that comic 'smell'. You betcha. Next Issue: Survivor Type! The Monkey! Beachworld!

Stuff like that.

I think Marvel may do something like this since they do all those DT books anyway. It would be cool if they did a series and covered all the Nightshift stories.
