Some sites do that to track visits--silly, if they want people to view their content.

Anyway, the soldier took a pic of herself making a disrespectful gesture at an American flag, while in uniform. Big ju-ju no no, and she knew it. What happens to her will probably depend on how long she's been in the service. The headline was a bit overwrought--lol.

...no my friend...a thousand times no!....you owe no apology whatsoever...her shame is hers alone...and I think these soldiers and millions of others would agree...

I'm sure Scott is not suggesting you should not have posted it.

Oh no, I didn't mean that, just an unfortunate coincidence on my part.

...you are right Frank...that isn't it at all....my nerves are raw now-and this type of blatant disrespect of duty, honor and country would infuriate me at the best of times...and OoO is my friend-he has done nothing deserving of an apology...

...considering the ceremony I just came from...this disgusts me beyond comprehension...she needs to be dishonorably discharged!!!!!...here at Fort Leonard Wood, vehicles stop in the middle of the road as soldiers leave them at that time to salute the colors...how DARE she be so repugnant????.....

Yup. Stopping and saluting is exactly what's supposed to happen. I still stand at attention whenever the flag is displayed, and I wasn't even in the military--just a military brat of a devoted soldier. I still half raise from my seat in movie theaters, expecting to hear the anthem, and it's at least 25 years since I was last in a military theater. She's a stupid, entitled kid, with no idea of what the pledges she took when she took the uniform (and the money) meant.

Sad thing is, it's not limited to the young. I've seen adults who should damn well know better chatter through the anthem or at the presentation of the flag, hats on.
