….I think it will be somewhere in the middle, kinda hard to surpass old greasepaint head.....Do you think it’s just gonna be another shabby horror flick or do you think it’s ginna be successful like IT?
Mary Lambert captured the book. The acting left much to be desired, but the film's tone is perfect. I think the remake will be middle of "the rud", too, not because I am afraid to wager but because I was disappointed in the trailer. If it succeeds, great. If not, 's fine. It's been thirty years so I'm glad someone ventured to try. I will be buying a ticket.Do you think it’s just gonna be another shabby horror flick or do you think it’s ginna be successful like IT?
Yes, the tone of the book certainly comes through on the screen in the original version. Of the two lead actors, the guy is the best. The lady from Star Trek gave a very wooden, mostly unemotional performance and I can't believe that Lambert didn't get rid of her after seeing the dailies. The best performances were Fred Gwynne as Judd and the cat that played Church.Mary Lambert captured the book. The acting left much to be desired, but the film's tone is perfect. Yes, the Zelda scene is convincing and does what it was supposed to do. The rest of the time she's phoning it in.
Yeah, I agree. I do think her performance giving the Zelda speech was convincing, though.
Or 50s, 60s, 70s, etc style...I hate the bleak lighting style, too much like cheap late 2000’s/earl 2010’s horror movie lighting. Other than that, guess we’ll see
Not really, this is definitely a relic of Xtra-edg-e 2000’s-2010’s horror movies, used in the Rob Zombie Halloween Remakes, amusement, NM on Elm Street remake, all kinds of shlockOr 50s, 60s, 70s, etc style...
Horror movie lighting hasn't really changed much...
Saw trailer for new one at a recent family excursion to theater over Christmas to see Aquaman (women just HAD to see fish guy)...
Not buying a ticket myself. Read book once. Watched original once.
Since I started begetting cannot bring myself to imagine the feelings of parents in such a situation...
MoneyI just want to know WHY? Why must everything be re-made nowadays?
And you kids get off my lawn!
Dude, did you see the OG NM on Elm Street???Not really, this is definitely a relic of Xtra-edg-e 2000’s-2010’s horror movies, used in the Rob Zombie Halloween Remakes, amusement, NM on Elm Street remake, all kinds of shlock
Hmmmm, of course dim light is common, but in these instances the lighting is something else. It’s..... faded looking I guess.Dude, did you see the OG NM on Elm Street???
Things that go bump in dimly lit movies have been around since the beginning of silents...
So really.
I thought the original was OK.
Didn’t really like the cast (except for Gwynn).
My guess is that this will be “meh”. Which is how I feel about the It remake as well.
Saw the trailer this past weekend. My only statement was, "Lithgow doesn't come close to sounding like he's from Maine." I will watch it, but probably wait for it on DVD or Netflix vs paying for a ticket. The best performances were Fred Gwynne as Judd and the cat that played Church.
I know. This was a charming part of the book and creates a strong sense of place. I wonder if Lithgow couldn't muster an authentic Down East accent or if the directors thought it too clichéd in modern times., "Lithgow doesn't come close to sounding like he's from Maine."
Also, lack of imagination and originality.Money
