I know it is not one of the choices listed but my choice is:
#9
Number 9? Number 9? Number 9? Number 9? Number...... 9.

I picked 13. I'm more triskaidecaphilic than triskaidecaphobic. Two of my kids were born on a 13th, and 13 is the number I'd always pick, if available, for my sports jersey.

In fact, a friend and I were driving from a softball game once and came across a couple girls in a car with a flat (that's "puncture" to you Brit types, right?). They were trying to figure out which end of the jack might go up. We stopped to help, or rather I helped. The girls were cute, and while my single friend did his part to help by chatting them up, probably to keep their spirits up, the old married guy (ahem) actually changed the tire.

I finished up, stowed the flat and the jack, and one of the girls noted that it was the 13th day of the month. "I guess 13 really is an unlucky number, huh?"

"Maybe not," I replied, and turned my back toward them so they could see the "13" on the back of my jersey.

Great story! I am actually a Canadian, born in Toronto Grandpa! (But Mom came from Scotland (Glasgow) and I married a Scottish guy who has now immigrated to Canada so maybe that is why you think I am a Brit) (plus I am guilty of using the British spelling vs. American as that is what I was taught in school).
