Couple of days ago I found and bought the old paperback of Dean Koontz's Servants of Twilight from the downtown thrift store

I hope you like pages and pages of descriptions of mountain climbing and the equipment needed to pursue that activity because thats all I can remember from reading it a few years ago. It's well written but don't expect a horror novel.View attachment 33217
Found this for a dollar in my second hand store. Havent got it earlier because i've read a lot of very mixed reviews of this one. I really like Carrion Comfort and the Terror so thought it was worth a shot. My TBR pile is soon as high as Everest........
Found The Outsider in hardback in the charity shop beside where my daughter works, quite pleased with that, they don't seem to release SK's books in hardback here anymore, at least not the last few, just the oversized paperback editions.
What was your impression? Did you like the book? I recall reading this and enjoying it a lot, even the fantasy bits.A while ago I found a hardback copy of Rose Madder on a charity table at Wilko's (bca edition) and last night I finished reading it

Yea it was good in parts. Harrowing beginning, sort of mediocre middle section, then it got very weird, and a quite tense end section that kept me reading. What was your impression? Did you like the book? I recall reading this and enjoying it a lot, even the fantasy bits.
I only work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and the other three moderators are volunteering their time so I did not feel it was fair to ask them to work more hours than I do when I'm getting paid for the job. It was also a way of weaning members off the Board as it will be shuttered when I retire at the end of June. Can I ask why this forum is only open at certain times? There are occasions when I'm unable to post because of the time zone difference (I'm in the UK)
May I suggest you look at The Playground- a site started by a SKMB member for when the SKMB is closed. I love the Legends of the Fall movie. I will have to look for the book. Never knew there was one.Found hardback 1st printings of Less Than Zero by Bret Easton Ellis, Legends Of The Fall by Jim Harrison and No Deadly Drug- the anatomy of a celebrity murder trial by John D. MacDonald- this is a non-fiction account of the trial of Doctor Carl Coppolino. All books are in fantastic shape!!
It's worth quite a chunk of change. It's not Harrison's first book but it commands some hefty prices on the secondary market.I love the Legends of the Fall movie. I will have to look for the book. Never knew there was one.
