This time of year is the busiest at work so I haven't had enough free time to be on, just in case you were wondering.

Yes, I have been wondering. I'm growing accustomed to our little interchanges. :-)

Your mention of the Civil War here, reminded me of watching the Ken Burns film and how the combinations of period photos, music and the reading of letters made for such poignant viewing. My imagination was much more graphic and would leave me gobsmacked.

Sorry to hear you have a 2 hour commute :-( but at least you have a good station to listen to. My favorite jazz involves the trumpet-- I love the sound of that instrument! Also like the saxophone… piano and organ jazz are great too. Our local public radio station plays a continuous stream of jazz music; I tune in and turn it up loud when I clean the house!

My first exposure to it was a couple of decades ago. There was a radio show on the CBC called My Kind of Jazz and the host played selections from his own collection of 78's from the thirties. I'll try to send you a link to a cool piece I heard a while back.

There really is nothing like the first time you open the windows for the first time after 6 months of winter.

I bet the air smells so sweet and fresh! You must be having some good weather in your neck of the woods. It's warm and sunny here. I'm wearing a short-sleeved shirt for the first time this year-- it feels so liberating! It really is the little things that make life worth living. :-)

When Arnie was Governor, was it mandatory that all residents of the state be members of his fan club?

Ha! Ha! Arnie really did act like a big star, though, when he was the governator. I saw him in person once. You can tell he dyes his hair and wears makeup. He's not as tall as you'd think-- maybe 5 ft.10" with shoes and his thighs are so buffed he waddles when he walks. :-) He was super nice-- genuinely friendly; you couldn't help but like him when you met him.

Isn't it funny how are perceptions are skewed especially when it comes actors and such. One of my sisters lives in an area north of Toronto, where celebrities spend summers at cottages on the lakes. And she commented once how Kurt Russel was surprisingly short as well. It's all an illusion up on the big screen.

How have the water restrictions affected your family?

I live in a loft and don't have a lawn but if I did, I'd have to let it die. Lots of water fowl are dying because of the drought. I love animals so much and this makes me so sad but what can we do?? Wish you could send us some water!

We still have a lot of unwanted snow leftover. It's yours. I never even thought about the wildlife.

Getting up with the birds has its own special feel. And I've been spouting gibberish for years, and never been called on it.

Happy New Year to you too, Neesy! I have a weird sense of humor sometimes… I'm glad some people appreciate it! :-) I really enjoy your posts. I especially relate to the ones involving your special needs adult son-- I've got one of my own. (Asperger's Syndrome/Autism) Hmmm… maybe raising him has contributed to my weird sense of humor. :-D

      Hi!

May this note find you and yours well.
I liked your post regarding the breast implants and insecure women.
      Have a great weekend.
      Peace.
