AAARRRRRGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! :m_rage: We have this wonderful section on the core section of the site called The Library that we spent hundreds of hours working on to put out information to keep you informed about books. Here's the entry for Cycle of the Werewolf.

:aloof:

My apologies for the hijacking...thank you for the link to Cycle of the Werewolf. When one visits that link, it is obvious that more work has gone into the information posted there than has been completed to-date on the information for Doctor Sleep...as in the character list. None exists for Doctor Sleep...but the list for Cycle of the Werewolf looks complete. I like that that information--character lists--are there for the stories...say like when Under the Dome was published, there was that "cast of characters" included at the beginning of the story. That is nice, I think...like reading Shakespeare and others...there's that character list. That seems like a no-brainer, a character-list, a way to make the reading experience more enjoyable rather than to make your own list (as I do) while reading...a character list at the get-go is like a road-map one can refer back to as one reads along. I assume that there will eventually be a character list for Doctor Sleep? Thank you. :)

We've been very lucky with past books to have outside help from people such as Rocky Wood who have sent us the character lists so that we haven't had to create them. Rocky is dealing with ALS and may not be able to do this for us for much longer and we'll have to remember to step in to do that. Thanks for the reminder that we don't yet have it for Doctor Sleep. We'll work on getting that added as soon as we can.

Like I said...I generate my own "index" when I read. Dunno how much confidence anyone wants to place in a list generated by me, but I'd be happy to send it along...along with page numbers so anyone who has the same hardcover I have can double-check it. There has only been a few characters w/o names...but I usually make a note of them, as well.

Much appreciated! Let me check with Rocky to see if he's done one for Doctor Sleep which he may have especially since he helped Steve with research on that book but if he hasn't, will let you know and would welcome your list to get us started.

read this in hardback when it was first released...nice story...

at the time, i actually expected a bit more for SK's foray into werewolves...still, it was pretty darned entertaining...

wasn't it originally/almost like...a calendar, with each story representing like a day...or a week..or a month ??

the movie was OK...a nice little b-movie strangled more by some weak editing and a weaker werewolf design...

Yes...the chapters followed the months of the calendar. A nice idea, tool, what have you for anyone interested in the mechanics of a story. I recall another story from another using this same tool, perhaps the chapters were titled with the months, as this one was. I think it begins and ends in October? Give or take.

ummm, yeah, thankee sai Walt...

but what i meant to say was...

do i remember correctly in that the initial idea for this project was not as a book...

but of one to actually have been a calender...a hang on your wall, just like your everyday calendar...

and you'd get to each part of the story as you flipped the page to the next month...or am i just psycho ?

um...well...no need to answer that last part....thanks

That's correct. The original intent was to do it as a calendar.

I believe the illustrator Berni Wrightson worked on Creepshow also. Not to mention the illustrated magazine Heavy Metal. That was an incredible team IMO, Wrightson and King. Both masters of their own craft.
