Mitchell was my favorite.

Hearts pounding, veins clogging....MITCHELL!!

What made it even funnier for me was that I was watching that episode with some friends when my Dad happened to come in the room and remarked that he didn't understand why they were making fun of a good movie :)
=D I hate to admit that I've yet to see the Mitchell episode. My favorite is The Day the Earth Froze.

Mr. Gust and I LOVE MST3K! Every week we have a "date night" and watch an MST3K movie. One of the best experiences of my adulthood was attending Cinematic Titanic a couple of years ago. The original cast-- Joel, Trace, Frank, Mary Jo-- came and riffed a movie at a local venue, just like they do on the show. It was hilarious!

MST3K is brilliant. There are so many cultural references going back decades that, for us, it's often like a trip down memory lane. Our all-time favorite episode is when they riffed Manos: The Hands of Fate. Every episode is good. I follow Joel on Facebook so I can keep up with him and the latest MST3K news.

It's great to meet fellow fans. The show's not for everybody. Some find it too difficult to watch a movie while people seem to be interrupting all of the time. Others resent criticism of innocent, awful attempts at movie making. All I know is that I grew up doing what the guys on the show do because, due to cheap TV stations, a B-minus-minus-movie I was reduced to watching was so frustrating and ridiculously disappointing, and unbelievably bad, that I had to complain about life out loud, usually in the form of unavoidable laughter.

Manos is arguably the greatest episode in the mst3k canon. A true classic.

One of the very best shows ever.

I was up late, a little restless, flicking through the channels, and I see it. Weird. Then I listen to the commentary, and I couldn't stop laughing. Particularly when they got to, "There's a sale on plaid!" and, "Tommy, can you hear me?" "CAN YOU FEEL ME NEAR YOU," I thought I was going to have an aneurysm. (I may not have those quotes exactly right, but show aficionados will know what I'm talking about.)

I pulled Grandma in the next week, and we became regular watchers. Not devoted, but regular, and it never disappointed. We could always get laughs out of it. We were sad pandas when the show ended.

My personal favorite (there no naughty words or images. And you can't go straight to the movie since I already posted the short, Here Comes the Circus, which comes first)...

Just watched I Accuse My Parents last night. Don't you just love the shorts they show before some of the movies?

This was the one that preceded last night's film.
