GNTLGNT, that is a hilarious -- and truthful -- cartoon. But we all should watch the ads, because hey, King is potentially being compensated by them.

Ms. Mod, can you provide some background on why Hulu was settled upon as the venue of distribution? Did other entertainment destinations such as HBO/AMC pass on the project? If the series is a big hit, will it migrate over to a network? Did King option this to the company for a buck, or was it more money this time? How involved is Abrams given his "Star Wars" obligations?

I like the notion that, if the series is successful, the format can be repeated for more seasons. After all, more trips through time could be taken to try to prevent things or whatever...find Jack the Ripper, save Salem from the witch hysteria, etc., using that same portal but with different characters, I would assume.

I don't know what distributors were involved in the process as that's something that happened outside of our office. Once the film rights are sold, it's usually up to whomever purchased them to do the negotiations for distributorship.

I wasn't given permission to post anything before my quitting time for the day but be on the lookout for an announcement coming soon about this project--possibly overnight. Once we get the official thumbs up, we'll be sure to post here as well.

Bev, for what does "MB" stand?

Do you happen to know if CBS was pitched the series before it settled at Hulu?

I am in the throes of reading it for the first time and can see tremendous potential for multiple TV series so great news as far as I'm concerned
Not sure what you mean by multiple series but my impression is that they will do a 10 part series on this book then that's it. I can't imagine SK would allow them to hire another writer to further time travel stories like Quatum Leap (for you old school out there). I think SK wants complete creative control.
Just my impression.
