Today on Den of Geek I saw a rec for a small suspense/horror movie called In Fear. The reviewer said it was definitely creepy and suspenseful, but it had very limited release for some reason that I can't recall right now, and so a lot of people have never heard of it. IT WAS CREEPY. Oh my gosh! I accidentally squeezed Louie and made him dog squeak. I'd definitely recommend it! On Netflix now.

Nativity 3: Dude, Where's My Donkey - profoundly silly and childish British film for kids
The Imitation Game - first rate drama of WWII Enigma code cracker Alan Turing with Oscar-worthy performance from Benedict Cumberbatch
The Drop - Dull and overlong crime drama with striking moments
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 1 - Very good, very different feel to the previous 2.

Just saw the movie "Thinner" for the first time - not too bad of a movie - plus a cameo by the author :fat:

Bram Stoker's Dracula (Francis Ford Coppola's version) is on TV right now in the other room. This would have been a perfect movie but for the HUGE miscasting of Keanu Reeves. His English 'accent' is abhorable! I keep waiting for him to say 'Dude.'!

I never really found Keanu's accent that bad (and I agree with you that BSD is a bloody fantastic movie). Wanna hear bad accents ? Listen to any non-Australian, especially Americans (no offence meant) try to do our accent, they sound like a bizarre mix between Cockney and South African.

Mate.

I've never bought into the non-love shown Keanu Reeves. To me, however limited or wide his acting is, it's been appropriate for the role.
.
Bill & Ted - spot on.
Devil's Advocate - nothing wrong there.
Speed - enjoyed it.
Matrix - it's what the part called for.

Anyway, my latest movie(s).............

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. It was fun. I enjoyed it. More than the previous two.

The first MI, I enjoyed until the end, and then it turned me off in a major unforgiving way. The second one was far too silly to invest in. This one, despite my anti-MI bias coming in, gave me a good show. It wasn't as "serious" as a Bourne escapade. It was more like a Roger Moore Bond film, if Mr. Moore had any real machismo coming into the role. Good plot turns, don't think about some of them too much, and good casting. No, really good casting.

(Bias confession: At one part toward the end of the movie, I'm watching the Cruise character and thinking, He's so good-looking, so athletic, and he so obviously commits to the role. So sad that he's so damaged.)

And.....

The Caine Mutiny. Perhaps Bogard's best role. Forget the tough guy. He's damaged and does it very well. The whole movie is great with the suspense in both plot development and character exposition.

The Ghost And Mrs. Muir with Gene Tierney and Rex Harrison.

First time I've ever watched it and overall it was a pretty charming movie. I've become smitten with Gene Tierney methinks.

The core relationship of this movie is something I'm surprised King has never done a variation on.

I watched Labor Day a few moments ago and I really like that movie. It doesn't have any special effects but there is great acting. One thing I love the most about this is the threat that's a part of the plot. But what I like the very most is the tee-shirt that's worn by the lead male.

I will not go into details because . . .I'm too lazy to do a spoiler button. There is a white tee-shirt that's worn in this movie and it turns me on. Why? Because my husband has a lot of said shirts and I love to smell them. No matter how I wash them they still have that 'Man Scent'. Mmmm . . .I like that scent and just like the lead male in this movie my husband is very useful. But that man scent that a white tee-shirt holds is something that a wife knows and appreciates. It's a good movie.

They make a peach pie from scratch and it is just as I would make . . .but, it's more enjoyable than I could ever do. . . that alone is worth watching the movie.

Yay! I watched Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. (Still freaks me out.)

Also watched Needful Things. (I'm sorry but those two women slugging it out was horrific/funny/appalling/gut busting. I know. I'm going to he11.)

Thanks skimom2 . I'll see if I can get to In Fear.

Has anyone watched Darknet?
IMDb has it at 7.8. Pretty good rating.

A macabre web site called Darknet links the tales in this chilling anthology series whose protagonists face a range of unmanageable horrors.

Peace.

I watched an episode of Masters of Horror last night that was VERY well done! Called "The Damned Thing", it was directed by Tobe Hooper, screenp[lay by Richard Christian Matheson from a story by Ambrose Bierce. It reminded me strongly of an SK story: small town, happy family torn apart by sudden inexplicable violence, weird happenings that escalate... Very, very King. I enjoyed it a lot (aside from a non-Kingly downer ending. Then again, he HAS been getting darker...).
