I've been wracking my brain, and I can't remember anywhere that he approaches Christmas in more than a very cursory way. I have an idea why, though I definitely could be wrong. Sometimes when people come from a difficult background, it's hard to trust Christmas. Christmas is ****ing stressful at times, and kids 'get' that. It's something to get through, either because of money issues or losses (or whatever). I'm going by my mom: she came from a pretty bad family situation and she abhors Christmas. It was marginally better when we were little and she COULD get pretty much whatever she wanted to get for us, but she's never really liked it. Childhood, man...the things we learn and develop then stay with us forever.
