Looks like the book is a first edition and the cover is from a book club edition. Not bad, I guess, and still better than the copy I have now :)
Great find!!! Now all you need to do is find a later printing copy on ebay that has the correct price ($5.95) on the inside front flap. Keep your eye out!!!

I bought three books tonight! I read so many of King's works when I was younger that it all seems fuzzy. I'll start re-reading something and 25% of the way through, I'll be like, oh yeah, I read this when I was 8. Anyhoo, I ordered Roadwork, Dead Zone, and The Dark Half tonight. So excited to receive them, because I've been using an e-reader lately and for me, Stephen King is only to be read the old fashioned way.

Just something about it. I think it's largely due to the fact that I'm blessed enough to have been born just in time to where I grew up without e-readers. I can vividly remember my mom's fevered excitement when we'd walk into CVS (called Brooks then) and she'd treat herself to a new paperback. That meant I'd be getting a new book when she was done. I could curl up and escape from all the torment and madness. No getting up to charge or plug anything; if we had to get dragged out anywhere, well, a book is as portable a toy as anything. Sigh.

Cemetary Dance is currently running a 50% off promo (snow50thanks) if anyone has been thinking about a purchase from them. The code last through Friday and the special edition Carrie is included in the offer.

Brian James Freeman (from CD) posted on TDT.org that Mr. Mercedes, Revival, and Carrie were supposed to be excluded, but he goofed. He will honor those sales.

I really couldn't afford this, even at half price, but I ordered the Carrie special edition. I'm in the middle of selling almost everything I own on ebay (except my SK books) so I can move. That's my justification! This is the most money I've ever spent on a book. I'm still saving up to buy a signed one!

You won't regret it, CD creates beautiful books.

I got a 1st edition Full Dark, No Stars tonight in excellent condition (with dust jacket). This is one I did not have in my collection.

There was a hardcover Cell 1st edition with a dust jacket, in good condition for 4.99 but I passed it up. Now I am kicking myself as when I got home I noted that the only copy I have of Cell is in paperback.

Oh yeah and hardcover, first edition Dark Tower VII - what a huge book - in lovely condition with lots of pictures!

I also picked up a copy of From a Buick Eight, hard cover with a dust jacket and inside was a poster (???? it had Stephen King's signature on it but of course it was mass produced and not his real signature). Still it was pretty cool as I was not expecting that.

Duma Key also (turns out I already had one on my book shelf) :cry_pig: - oh well, now I have two - maybe I can turn on another person to SK and they can become a Constant Reader too :burn_joss_stick:

I think someone mentioned that it takes a very long time to receive your purchase. (??)
Carrie is on track to make it to your house by Christmas, barring any unforeseen events. Cemetary Dance is a small press and doesn't have alot of employees, so things run slower than if it were a big publisher. They do produce some outstanding editions and not just King books either. They have alot of different authors that they publish. There was one edition (Legacies) that took almost 17 years to be produced, but that was the exception (and I still am dying to know the tale behind that one!). They usually announce a new book months in advance, so you have to have some patience after you order from them. They do keep you updated. When you receive your copy of Carrie, you will be thrilled and then you will want to get any King limiteds from them that you can afford. Trust me!

I ordered Carrie a long, long time ago and still have not received my copy from Cemetery Dance! I used my credit card of course so I hope that one day it will arrive in my mail. It had to have been at least 9 months ago that I first requested it.

So, I made a good choice? (Especially since it was half price and wasn't supposed to be.)
