Hello from Germany,

Like I already told on the newbie site, I'm not only new to this forum, but also new to SK books, though I always enjoyed SK movies like Misery or Dolores.
My very first book from Stephen was Mr Mercedes and I would love to see a movie.
But I had to read, that maybe they will make a TV series out of it. What would make me much less happy.
But I cannot find any official confirmation anywhere.
Are there any websites, which confirm this ? Any links ?

Generally; What would you prefer ?

Best Regards

Martin

Welcome. Myself I'd prefer a movie if it was done right. Perhaps one film per story seeing as there are more stories with the same characters planned. I wouldn't like to see lots of other stuff added and dragging it out.

I think it'd be really good as one of those made for TV movies like the Jesse Stone series. Then King( if he felt like) could write short stories for some of the other episodes. That way he is not boxed in and can think about the different episodes.

Didn't I read somewhere that the series has already been optioned, Moderator ? I can't remember if it was for movie or TV, though. And I think if it is a movie, Russell Crowe in his heavier state (like in Body of Lies) and greyed up a bit more would make a pretty darn good Hodges.

It has been but I've been told that they're having trouble finding a distributor because detective stories aren't "in" now. If they made one of the characters a zombie, it might have a chance.

Dear Martin, I would speak in German but the other members wouldn't understand what we're saying. Nicht Wahr?
I have read that Lee Child book based on the movie starring Tom Cruise. I think Tom Cruise did a pretty good job, and the movie is not too bad but it is something that you wont' remember. Now if you get a high quality TV series that people are hanging out for, wouldn't that be better. Verstehr? For instance, that Jesse Stone show where he the girl is murdered in the lake and he has dreams about finding her killer that is good, and I wanted to go and by the series, which I did. Just because it's television don't mean it's inferior.
