Finally watched Horns. I liked it and felt the movie stayed fairly true to the book (from what I remember, it's been awhile). Hill was one of the executive producers, which was cool to see! :) I think the supporting cast did a better job than Radcliffe, though his performance improved as the movie progressed.

Submarine-quirky Brit indie, screenwriter and directed by Richard Ayoade (from The IT Crowd). Laughed a lot, even on a second viewing. I tried to watch his last movie, The Double, the other day and just couldn't do it. It went past quirky to strange and boring (for me). Plus it had Jesse Eisenberg, and he's not a favorite of mine aside from Zombieland. Too Woody Allen nebbishy for me to enjoy.

I tried to watch The Double a few months ago. Don't think I made it past the first fifteen minutes! :a11:

Lonely Are The Brave (1962) Kirk Douglas, Walter Matthau

A magnificent film with a great multi-layered story. Kirk Douglas plays Jack Burns, an open range cowboy/drifter/loner that doesn't fit in with the modern world. I love the opening where you think you are watching an old Western and then suddenly a jet flies overhead letting you know it's the modern world. The movie is in black and white and looks stunning. Dalton Trumbo wrote the screenplay (adapted from the novel "The Brave Cowboy").
