Playing the PC version of zombie apocalypse survival game State of Decay when I came across this:
Seems there was an election coming up between wannabe sheriff Grimes and the current sheriff. A chap named Carl.
Reminds me of the cheap thrill I got when reading Jonathan Maberry's "Rot & Ruin" series. He remarked on the kids collecting trading cards of Heroes of the First Night (this series takes place about 15 years after the beginning of the ZA), and one of the cards is of "Sheriff Rick"
That was only second to the characters' anticipation of the arrival of a famous bounty hunter/Z killer called 'Quick-Draw Carl', known for his trademark hat handed down from his sheriff dad. I giggled like a schoolgirl over that one--lol
Yeah, you know they're obvious nods (for example, State of Decay also features a 'home site' called The Kirkman Residence - and it lies right on one of the zombie hordes' favourite routes), but... 
That cat deserves to live after all that!
I'm not surprised he went to a neighbours house on reanimating...
