These are steps of the progress of this memorial portrait I'm working on.

And now I'm working on the hair. Not done, but not far from it.

A little fine tuning, lots of work left in the hair, but over all, I'm pretty happy with it. I hope the final product pleases the family.

I'll add the final version in a comment. Maybe tomorrow.
:)

That is incredible, Lepplady...even more so after reading your description of how you came to paint this...over in the Catina. For not having painted much in a time...or was it not much with oils lately?...something. Pressure. And yeah...I don't think there'll be a dry eye in the house.

I do fairy art and I've worked with watercolors and pencils. But I haven't even tried an oil portrait in decades. It was harrowing.
I knew something was wrong with it, but couldn't put my finger on what. Aside from the wonky eye. It finally hit me. Her forehead is too short. Well. It was. I'm working on that now. That's one thing I love about oils. They don't dry fast like acrylics. There's a grace period.
And I'm fixing that wonky eye.

So not only are you the Lepplady, you're one brave lady, as well. I'd'a been crawling the walls, probably hanging off the ceiling...there is NO WAY I could have done what you have done, even if I had talent. It's unfortunate that so many as taken so young.
