Hi folks -

I am a SK fan but joined looking for help.

I am involved at our local community theatre and we wanted to perform 'Misery' this coming fall. But we were turned down for the rights with no explanation. We thought maybe 'Misery' is coming back to Broadway but I can find no mention of that, there was already a revival done recently. Or maybe a tour, but I can't find any mention of that either.

So I thought maybe a group like this would hear about anything new going on and be able to help me out finding information.

Thanks.

You are correct that there previously had been stage productions of Misery. My understanding is that Warner Brothers (I may have that distributor wrong, but think that's who it currently is) has secured the stage rights from Simon Moore, the previous rights holder, and no longer wishes to allow stage productions as is their right as the owner of that property.

I wonder what their plans are for it? It's all very interesting. Thanks for the information Ms Mod.
