I could almost smell the inside of the Kennebec Fruit Co., and the houses in the second clip remind me of the one we lived in, in Toronto, back in the 60s - thanks for posting this.

Apparently the real Kennebec Fruit Co. in Lisbon, Maine is quite different - just found this out by Googling it. I love this book - hope they do it justice!
From what I've seen on the Internet the kennebec fruit looks quite like the beales grocery store in those pictures with its greenish old fashioned display windows.

It all looks so cosy and homely, and that row of houses you mentioned looks so idyllic. The thing I noticed though was those beautiful cars. Why did car designs have to change so much? I love 50s American cars.

Can't read it, wants us to answer questions to go further.

That's odd - I've been able to bring it up without problem. Maybe it's region limited or something. It has a great photo of Steve behind the wheel of Christine. Does this show up for you?

If you have ever been to the Volo Auto Museum in Volo, Illinois just East of McHenry Illinois, you already know that the museum features many exciting collectible and Hollywood exhibit cars. I am truly amazed at the collection every time I walk the museum. One car, “Christine” has been returned to author Stephen King for use. Details here.

According to the Northwest Herald, Hollywood has asked Volo Auto Museum Director Brian Grams to use one of the collected cars at the 27582 Volo Village Road museum.

One of the museum’s most recognizable Hollywood cars soon will return with significantly souped-up star power. On loan to Stephen King himself is the museum’s red 1958 Plymouth Fury, better known as Christine from the movie of the same name. King requested the car be shipped to Ontario, Canada, where he is working with producer J.J. Abrams, actor James Franco and others on a miniseries based on King’s novel, “11/22/63.”

Grams expressed that Mr. King requested that his crew find a Christine for use in his miniseries. “Basically, Stephen King puts little cues in his movies from past works. Our Christine is making a cameo.” stated Brian Grams.

As part of a press conference this week in Ontario, the crew unveiled Volo’s Christine — much to King’s surprise.

“He was super excited that they got the car,” Grams said of the renowned author whose novel “Christine” was developed into a hit film in 1983.

In exchange for the loan of the car, the museum requested only to be compensated for shipping costs — and to have King autograph Christine’s dashboard.

The Volo Auto Museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Visit volocars.com or find Volo Auto Museum on Facebook.

After a Sunday or weekend trip to Volo and the Volo Museum, you will rekindle your love for automobiles. I try to plan a trip to the museum at least once every year.
