I'm a long-time fan of Mr King's work. I remember reading 'Salem's Lot in the late 70's and thinking, "WOW!" It made a great impression on me; I had read nothing like it before, and although I felt it was something special, I'm sure even Mr. King could not have predicted his great success.

Strangely, I was motivated to post this because I pulled out my copy of "Rose Red" to watch on a rainy day in Florida. It was a perfect choice. I'm not as big a fan of Rose Red as other works, but it is a good, solid haunted house tale. I confess that I was bummed over what happened to the character of Nick (played by Julian Sands). He was an intriguing character and I would even like to read a kind of "prequel" to Rose Red built around Nick!

Anyway, I'm glad to be here and look forward to reading the forums. Thank you!
