Okay. I'm going to expose my inner beaner.

I have Tupperware. I do. But I also have plastic containers that I wash and reuse. Kill me.
If one of the kids is in the fridge looking for something to eat, they will always check out the plastic containers to see what actually IS in the container. Could be salsa, could be left over spaghetti or chicken fried rice.

Please tell me you reuse plastic containers, too.
Sigs, I re-use those containers. Why not, they're just as good as Tupperware. It's called recycling, folks. Think about it. I've even taken some to work for everyone to use for scooping out of storage tubs the backs of those pesky Electronic Sensor tags that we have to attach to clothing so it doesn't get stolen. I use them to scoop out of the bag the Ice Melt in the wintertime. I use them to scoop out of the bag the planting soil in the summer. And of course I use them for leftovers. I use them to put odd screws and nuts and bolts in. Lots of uses for those things.

Yes I do - I just don't trust them for microwaving in. Call me paranoid but I will transfer food from a plastic container into a glass microwave safe bowl.

The worst thing I saw was at a community college I went to - a teacher asked just for some hot water (he preferred it over tea).

The cafeteria worker put a styrofoam cup in the microwave, heated up the water and gave it to him! Yikes (cancer for lunch anyone?) :icon_eek::down::rolleyes:

I hardly ever use my microwave (it's on the counter but not even plugged in) and, like you, I'm afraid of what happens when one uses plastic in a microwave so it's always glass, glass, glass.

I don't microwave plastic either. Best not to chance it. And never styrofoam. This reminds me, I have a microwave disaster to share on Sig's thread.
