The ending was changed from the book. I liked the movie ending better.

I read the book about 30 years ago and haven't watched the movie since about 2k; the ending in the movie adaptation was definitely better, but also suited to the medium.

Some of the best actors have directed some of the best movies. Ron Howard, Clint, Ben Assfleck...

Ghost Rider--LilMan's choice. Nic Cage was predictably horrible (lol), and Eva Longoria evidently could not find a shirt that fit across her chest (boobage in every scene, but then she's gorgeous enough to pull that off), but it was cheesy fun. The best part was Sam Elliott, but he's often the best part of meh movies. Cowboy Ghost Rider riding with modern Ghost Rider was fun, too.

WOW! His movies are beautifully shot and literate. He must have been an interesting man.
He was a couple of years younger than me, and you don't really socialise with younger kids at school, do you? But it was plain that he was talented even then - he came from a family of overachievers. His parents, Eddie and Gloria Minghella, were Italian immigrants who opened an ice-cream factory which is still very successful. They also had a café in Ryde which was popular. His mum was very active in local good causes, and both parents were both on the local civic authority. His siblings (he's one of 5? 6?) have all been fairly high profile artistically - Max probably highest profile.
