Does anyone know what camping options are available in the area?

Rocky Mountain National Park!!!! Estes Park is right on their doorstep. Get a slot reserved early. They're part of the National Park Service, obviously. It's a tremendously popular camping place. Camping there as a kid is what ultimately drew me to live here.

(ETA: Wait, I think of camping as in a tent. Is that what we're talking about? If not, let me know.)

I'll drop a line to the Stanley and see what I can get set up. That hotel has a checkered, to say the least, financial history these past forty years. It'll be interesting to hear what they have to say.

I'm going to look into that, Grandpa--thanks a lot! 95% sure we'll be able to come to the con, but The Man wants to camp at least some of the time since it will be his big vacation for the year and he LOVES to camp :)

A little update on my plans regarding visits to the states. It isa mix of positive and negative. The fun part is that i will be making a trip to the states this summer (nearly certain now even if no tickets or so is bought). The not so fun part is that it looks like August, probably early on. I'll hope that i can come about ten days earlier but it looks a bit unlikely at the moment. My base during this stay will be Fort Collins, colorado but i'll probably be making trips to new mexico and texas at least. If at all possible i would like to meet the ones that can.

...it looks as if we are going to have to go another route with t-shirts, since Brian is apparently busy with other projects...I will start looking soon, so we can get our orders in...it's a tradition and a damn cool one, I don't want to see it fall away....
@Gnt- how about the cafe press SK store? They are ready made/ or you could see about deigns( if there is still time) - Part of cost will go to Haven Foundation too.

...that is where we had chatted about before Brain came into the mix...if he doesn't have time-and Marsha sent him a note three weeks ago, then I say that's what we do... I will wait till the end of the month, and if nothing, then I start mulling the choices there and making my recommendations.....

Kurben-- Scott will make a sign up sheet for those who desire a shirt. Just add you name to the list. I have never been to a Kon, yet have a tee shirt from each. I wear them the days of the event, and then hold onto them as reminders.

Kurben, please, you must stop by. And if you need a place to sleep and shower and change, the door is open.

I haven't actually scheduled anything with the Stanley. I went to their website, and they have regularly scheduled tours every day. I will get off my glutes and email them to tell them of the Gathering and find out what accommodations they can make for us. I will.

My brother lives in fort collins so i'll be there when i'm not on a trip somewhere. Thats the usual way my brother and i enjoy ourselfes. taking trips. I've been as far north as south dakota and Deadwood where i had a beer in remembrance of wild bill Hickoc and as far south as Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. If possible i would like to see you while i'm there. I'll probably be there the bigger part of august.
