my car is grounded, ran over a curb and just shredded two tyres. I don't have the money at the moment for two replacements. Auckland is huge on foot and public transport. So mad at myself!! Cujo was a good dog, the rabies was the problem. Such a good film and book, one of the best stories from King, gritty and realistic. What a gift Stephen has!!

I thought Cujo was great because as a youngster I had a phobia regarding rabies and that dog was one of my worst nightmares! During the sixties rabies was pretty much eradicated but I still had a fear about it, hence my revulsion of bats. Plus, you really do not want to go through rabies treatment...especially the initial injections. First day: Rabies vaccine, tetanus (if not up to date...tetanus a is horrible disease as well.) and rabies immunoglobulin (four of these injections based on your weight.) then three f/u injections of the rabies vaccine These are given if you have contact with a rabid animal....say a bat flies into your hair (not common but it has happened) and flies away. Since they cannot test the brain, you need to have the injections as a bat bite is very small and can go undetected. {{{shudder}}} Hate the fecckkers!

I can reread Cujo anytime, and often read it once a year. Very very re-readable! These days Donna and Tad would be saved by her cellphone maybe?

I just finished re-reading it a few hours ago. Haven't read it since it came out. I forgot how good it was. I like how Mister King played around with the closet. Was it something more than rabies? Were there two separate but connected things going on? Well, on to the next one...
