Well, it's TCM's final Weimar Wednesday, and they're going out with a case of Pabst--G.W. Pabst, that is. They started with:

Pandora's Box (1929). Holy crap, I'm officially a Louise Brooks fan for life! This film drags you through the muck, kicks you in the crotch, and leaves you bleeding in the street. Some of the best performances I've ever seen in a silent movie. Ms. Brooks is incredible--and I'm not just talking about her cutie-bob hair do. Flick touches on all kinda taboo subjects, stuff that'd never make it through the Hays office five years later, like the Countess Geschwitz character, who's obviously in love with LuLu (Brooks), just like everyone else...including me, now.

I have Diary of a Lost Girl recording right now--another Pabst/Brooks flick. Can't wait.

So, tonight was date night- and my choice of movie.

Midnight Special

Hmmmmm, a cross between D. A. R. Y. L and Knowing, and an X men origin of CYCLOPS . Bit of a stinker, slooooooower than Melancholy (Kirsten Dunst ) who also appears in this. Nothing new here folks, maybe keep the cash for something french and arty .
