It is a nice cover. One thing I am disappointed with, however, is that all of the song lyrics at the start of chapters have gone.

I've also noticed – in the new Needful Things printing – numerous typographical errors. I swear that I have seen instances of entire words missing from the text.

Really? That sucks. What words are missing? It's not a PC thing, is it? King has never been PC or one who heavily censors his work. Just curious.

Yeah, I figured it was that they didn't want to go through regaining the rights to the lyrics for this reprint when I first thumbed through the book. It's unfortunate because I feel those lyrics add a great deal to the atmosphere of the book. Thankfully I still have my old (old old old old) mass market papaerback, and it is still (relatively) in one piece. ;-D

Oh, no, it's nothing to do with censorship; it's just that in one or two instances it seems as though a word is missing from a sentence. Mostly, it is either the wrong letter or a random , where a , shouldn't be. They aren't overly distracting, but this is certainly the most typographical errors I have seen in one book in a long time. Almost as though they printed the e-book version (which are typically rife with errors, from what I understand).

To expand on what I said previously: as of now I am on page 765 of this edition of Needful Things, and I would estimate that I have seen well over a dozen typos. You might not think that is all that many in a book over 900 pages in length, but it is significantly higher than what I came across in all of the books I read last year (and, for that matter, so far this year as well). If typos are something that really bothers you as a reader, you may want to steer clear of this edition — and possibly the other recent Pocket Books paperbacks.

...Steve told a story on the EOW tour about, Metallica and wanting to use a song clip and they said "sure, for x thousands of dollars"...King replied quite succinctly....."F**k you!"...
Metallica is pretty dumb - that would have given them excellent publicity!
