Hello All.

I just joined the site, although I am long time SK fan - dating back to the early 80s.

I have collected many books over the years and unfortunately have to sell some of my collection to pay the rent (and keep my son in a good school district).

I guess I am looking for advice in terms of where would be the best place to sell.

The highlight of the collection is a signed copy of the Donald Grant edition of the Dark Tower II. It is signed by both Mr. King and the publisher. It is an excellent shape, never having been read (not opened beyond the signed page).

The book was autographed by Mr. King in Manhattan to celebrate the book release of the uncut The Stand. (I also have a signed copy of the first edition of that book.)

I also have first editions of short story collections that include SK's work.

Night Visions 5 (Dark Harvest)
HC - sealed
Book of the Dead (Mark Ziesing)
HC - "Home Delivery"

Any and all advice on the best matter to sell these books would be appreciated. There are other non-Stephen King books in the collection, but I guess I wanted to start with these. (Signed Bradbury, Vonnegut, etc.)

Thanks in advance.

Try posting on thedarktower.org. That is the place for King book collectors. You might also contact David at Betts Books. He sells many King signed books on behalf of those selling off their collection. I'm not sure what his arrangement is with those who own the books but everything he posts relating to King goes fast.

Betts Books would probably be the best way, but out of curiosity, I'd like to know what you are asking for anything flatsigned. I'm in a similar situation. Would you be open to a trade?

Gerald Winters & Son, a new bookstore in Bangor run by a King collector would also be an great choice, in addition to Bett's Books.

Outside of these excellent consigners, you could try in the Buy/Sell thread here on the SKMB, or in the Collectibles Classified thread on The Dark Tower.org, which also includes other sections for help establishing current market value and other author collectibles. These are all probably your best options for King, and very possibly the easiest for your needs even for the other authors, though there are certainly other good options for those non-King books that I'm not aware of.
