Earlier I raised a DB Export Gold to Naters, it's the beer I was drinking when we first Skyped a couple of years ago, he was drinking one of his IPA's at the time and we swore one day that we'd sit down in the same room and I'd get to taste a Nate special.
Today his friends and family celebrated his life, it was to be a day of remembering the good things and celebrating in the way that he would have, should he still be here.
I asked his Mom tonight if it would be alright to pass on some of the special photos she has shared over the last few weeks, so some of the following include these. Others are of some of his favourite things he shared with me over the years and a few were taken by his girlfriend and shared with her permission...
(Nate, you can kick me in the arse when I get to the other side for sharing your cute growing up photos... yes, my friend... you're welcome. )

...thanks Flake...in this case, being the intermediary is a position of both honor and pain, and you have borne both with grace and dignity....
Thanks for that, (((Scott))). The loss just feels fresh every day, I wake up and it hits me again, every morning....thanks Flake...in this case, being the intermediary is a position of both honor and pain, and you have borne both with grace and dignity....
(((Flake))) Look to the stars at night, the blue sky of the day, the bright sun shining down/or clouds and gentle rains, the first snowflake/ the first bud on a tree or flower bush. These are Nate. His spirit will never pass. Feel it as you walk the river banks with your pups. Watch their ears and eyes-- they know, they feel his spirit well. Feel the love the the Ka-Tet, we are here for you- always! Thanks for that, (((Scott))). The loss just feels fresh every day, I wake up and it hits me again, every morning.
I keep saying out-loud to myself, I can't believe you are gone, Naters... it doesn't feel like it can be real.
(when I was putting those photos together yesterday I was quite busy with re-sizing and grouping and talking with his family and so the whole group of them together like that didn't really register... I've just gone back over those posts tonight and they fair whacked me )
