I liked Bag of Bones, sure it should could've been longer, and closer to the book, but I still think it all came together well. Especially the way Brosnan sold the taking on of Max Devore's lawyer. He so triumphantly mowed through that guy that it was a total triumphant fist-pumping moment which the movie did capture perfectly.

And Mr. Mercedes, loved the book, will give the show a try.

My wife gave me the DVD of bag of bones along with several other King adaptations for Christmas. I hadn't read bag of bones yet so i read it before viewing. Had i watched it before reading i think i would have been entertained. However, after reading the novel i believe it was a bad adaptation. As others have mentioned, its not the worst adaptation of his work! It is a decent movie, but if you have read the book it's like most of his adaptations....disappointing! I am excited about the adaptations of IT and Mr. Mercedes, but not so much about the Dark Tower. I will still watch every King adaptation regardless. The books still live on despite the movies being less than desirable for us "constant readers"

I was triumphantly triumphant in demonstrating redundancy in my comment a couple of posts up, wasn't I? The Dark Tower is looking decent from the ads I've been seeing for it. It might be ok ... and there are ways to tie the movies into the books believably ... even have a past version and current version running concurrently so that there are two of the same Roland.. .as he was, and as he is ...
