I have a Hardcover copy of Carrie with a price tag of $17.95 on the dust jacket. Is this a book club edition, how can I tell the difference? It's the size of a book club edition.
It would help if you could describe the book in more detail - are there any numbers in the front?

But like Tery said, kingricefan is the expert in these things...
:haha:

If there's a price on the inside front flap of the dust jacket, it's not a book club edition. It's definitely a later printing. I don't know for sure what printing it is. Doubleday did some weird things with their King editions. King's first 5 books with Doubleday were all printed in that smaller format which are the same sizes as book club editions. Later on Doubleday started printing them in the same sizes as regulare hardback books. Then they went back to the smaller sizes again. Knopf has done the same thing with their editions of Interview With The Vampire by Anne Rice. Originally published in the smaller size, then to the larger edition, then back to the small version for a 'signed and slip-cased' edition. Who knows why? But, do to Doubleday doing this type of thing, I was able to find a beautiful mint condition 1st printing hardback of Carrie at a used book store for $7.99 about 12 years ago. I'm assuming that the book buyer that day thought it was a book club edition because of its size and priced it accordingly. They could have sold it for an easy $1,000. I pretty much ran out of that store after paying for it!

Neesy- you can come over to visit but you'll be going through one of those airport x-ray machines when you leave. Be prepared for a full body cavity search.....;;D
Oh stop - you'll get me all flustered! :a11::smile_002:
