Hi, I am a big Stephen King fan and was wondering if Mr. King was thinking of making

The Talisman into a movie. I think it would make a great movie and I have read the book 3 times and never tire of it.

Welcome to the board Rick.
If King ever does get around to making The Talisman into a movie, I will be the very first to buy a ticket! That has been my wish since the first time I read the book some 30 years ago.
It would take an enormous talent to do that story justice on the big screen. If it ever does get made I hope it is done well. It would probably have to be about 8 hours long!

I'd prefer to see it as a limited run series on a premium tv offering like HBO or Showtime, or as Netflix series. I think AMC would do a terrific job with it too. It's such a rich novel that takes its time. I'd like to see a tv format that can do that also.
I agree with you. I have previously suggested those same networks as options for adaptations of The Stand and The Tommyknockers.

I think Netflix could do it justice and if Spielberg still owns the rights it could be done well and with the CGI in today's movies the book can be played out like a Game of Thrones series, enough shows to cover the whole book and maybe even the 2nd installment. The movie version could be done like the Star Wars movies with a 2 or 3 part movie series.
