Oh ****. When asked I always say, Connery was the best Bond. Roger Moore was my favorite. The first Bond I saw in the theater. Kept the franchise alive -- Moonraker made more money, adjusting for inflation, than any Bond since. I absolutely loved him. Man, I really have to stop visiting this board.

I guess maybe the Bond you grew up with is usually your favorite. Ahem, excuse me, favourite. But yeah, when I was a kid, back in the early eighties when we first had cable television, I never missed a chance to stay up late and catch flicks like The Spy Who Loved Me, or, my fave, Octopussy. I eventually learned to appreciate the Connery films, but back then they just seemed old fashioned. Of course, now the Moore films seem a trifle corny and dated, but that just makes me dig em all the more.

When I was a kid, Roger Moore was one of my favorite actors because the television series 'The Saint' was one of my favorite television show( this is back in the early 1970's). I didn't like him much as James Bond because he played Bond--in my opinion-- to wimpy. The Saint rocked.

Ah crap. I hadn't heard about this until I just now when I saw this thread. I'm a huge Bond fan (in fact I'm also a member of a Bond forum but I haven't visited in a week or so) and of Roger Moore in particular. My dad took my brother and I to see A View To A Kill when I was 5 and I've been a fan ever since, and since he was my first Bond he was always the one I liked the best.

It's a little bit off topic, but if anybody is looking for something to read and hasn't checked out Ian Fleming's James Bond novels, I highly recommend them. I read them over the holidays and loved them although there were a few duds in there.
