It was probably very hard to make The Stand of a tv-budget of that time, so Garris deserves our love.

Their number one would be mine too. The Running Man seems a bit high, but not an unreasonable list. Never heard about the No Smoking film, which story is that from, he's done several about smoking.
Love the photo with the dolls from The Tommyknockers.

I wonder what they mean by 'definitive countdown'? ALL the movies? I take it they don't count sequels or remakes, but still a number are missing. I can't find Silver Bullet.

And maybe they don't count works specifically written for the screen, like Storm of the Century, or Rose Red. Or adaptations of another series, like Kingdom Hospital. But they DO count Sleepwalkers, which was original for the screen...

think they just arbitrarily picked the number 45 out of a hat, so all adaptations need not apply, positions filled.

Big Driver deserved to be much higher. I'd put Christine in the top ten. The Running Man should be kicked to the bottom of the class.

Big Driver is one of the very rare King adaptations not released here on dvd. I absolutely loved it, Maria Bello is such a good actress.

Carpenter was not happy about Christine, he said he didn't know how to make the car scary.

Funny, I was looking at a movie with Armand Assante in it, it was either Federal Protection or The Last Run I googled the the director and for some reason stumbled across a link to Big Driver so I went to the HI-FI place out at Charlestown yesterday looking on the shelf for it because I don't have a copy but first I have to read the story again.
