Get Out, on HBO. I thought it was a nifty little horror movie. I have no idea why they're trying to shoehorn it into the comedy category for the Golden Globes, though--the main character's friend was a little funny, but the movie was not. It was straight up horror.
Loved this movie! The director, Jordan Peele, is known for his comedy, but I don’t get that either.

Wonder - boy with deformed face picked on at school: not-always-predictable heartwarmer
The Man Who Invented Christmas - Charles Dickens's life interacts with his characters as he tries to write A Christmas Carol: charming
The Disaster Artist - Franco brothers in odd adaptation of odd true-life story

Saw Dunkirk. Dont agree with all the praise it has gotten. Nominated for best picture... WHAT? It is very well made in the details but the overall story could have been better done. Seen many warmovies that were better. Dont misunderstand me, its not bad, its just not as good as everybody says. its a decent warmovie, not more. Arent close to Saving Private Ryan for example and that movie has flaws too. its as if Nolan (of Dark Knight and Inception fame) tried to let it speak for itself without adding characters, background or some story for the movie. After all the evacuation was an operation taking place in about a weeks time. So there is room for all this to give the movie a frame that it can take place in. Nolan didn't care to do this and as a result it is, for me, a disappointment.

Stronger - Jake Gyllenhaal as Boston marathon double amputee in intense and emotional true life story.
Better Watch Out - resourceful babysitter combats home invasion in horror with humour which takes unexpected turns.
Star Wars episode VIII: The Last Jedi - looks great, answers no questions, contains an extended irrelevance. Disappointing.

I don't know how I missed this one, but watched "Donnie Brasco" for the first time last night. Awesome movie, Johnny Depp and Al Pacino were wonderful in their roles.

I think this the best post 70's Al Pacino performance. If you get the dvd special edition, there are some pretty good interviews with the real life Donnie.
