I did a little reading on this, and your best bet may be to use the Silk or Firefox browser to download the YouTube app to your tablet.

Have you tried lowering the playback resolution?

I cannot duplicate the problem with Firefox Quantum 68.0 on Windows. What version and OS?

Reply works, but there were and are updates in progress.

Chrome 73 is a known issue. The only fix is using another browser/version.

Extra whitespace exists on Chrome for Android 73.0.3683.90 but is gone on Chrome for Android 74.0.3729.157. My suggestion for everyone experiencing this problem is that you update your browser to its current version and recheck the site. Update your web browser

If you're still using XP (or Windows 7 after January 2020), you're going to run into problems that I'm not going to be able to address.
