You weren’t much fun at slumber parties either!;-D
I’m always happy that people believe different things too. However, if one puts one’s beliefs out there, expect someone else to challenge it.
You don’t know that as a fact. Only Sundrop could say what was there. But even if there was no rag or washcloth, we’ve all seen photos with shadows that we didn’t see as the photo was taken. Or our finger was partially blocking the lens. Or thousands of other explanations.
I guess you’re referring to me as being unkind. If you’ll look back at my post, I said the human mind is a gullible thing, not you, and not Scott, nor anyone who believes as you do. I stated a fact—the mind often believes and sees what it wants for so many reasons, even when facts say otherwise...
Oh I did all the creepy stuff too, just to scare my friends, and told the hookman story many times. I’ve always loved ghost stories, horror movies, SK books, etc.; I just never believed it in real life.
You see a face, others see a dress, still others might see something else. Photos don’t prove ghosts exist, but do show that people will find something if they’re told to look for it. So many things can happen in photographs to make one thing look like something else anyway.
I’m too sciency for all this stuff. I don’t see any face, and I can see where the left-side shadows could be in the shape of an old-fashioned dress, but our brains are designed to see shapes we know and with which we’re familiar. People will see what they want to see.
I felt exactly the same. “Slogging” is a good word to describe reading that book. It was like reading the dictionary, only less exciting. I felt the same reading Joe Hill’s The Fireman. Too many characters that I cared nothing about.
