I've read both of them. The second one has a serial killer storyline and much more is revealed about Jacob Lev's mother and her connection to the Golem. I like the mixture of genres and look forward to what I assume will be the concluding volume.
I also found her a compelling character and the whole cause and effect as Kellerman moved back and forth in time. Though I wonder how he could continue her story. Have you tried the Golem books he's written with his son?
