    under the dome..fan or not?

I hated it. Lasted about 5 episodes... (the one where it rains and people instantly transitioned from killing each other to helping each other with buckets). I still followed from afar reading synopses/reviews as well as the comments on IGN because it was just hilarious. I don't need the...

Four film movie of The Stand

Very excited for this news. I was completely shut off on the idea of fitting The Stand into 1 movie. The issue I have... is whether or not the material will lend itself to be split up in quarters with enough "action" to warrant an entire movie? Where will the cutoffs be and are there...

    season 3

I underlined it because it referred specifically to my opinion, as I know I am in a SK/UTD TV forum where most people still watch the show and have higher opinions of it, and I didnt want to speak for them/you. I was trying to bring attention to my opinion being isolated and not speaking as...

    season 3

Honestly? In my opinion, this show is the worst thing to ever see the light of day with Stephen King's name attached to it. The "writers" are just going to keep trying to extend this "story" as long as possible with no plot arc(s) or consequences to anything that happens (how many critical...

    UTD: Season 2

I just cant imagine they wont have a Season 3 in some capacity. Unless the deal with Amazon is over and Amazon isn't interested in renewing. TV numbers dropped off significantly since season 1 and should drop more if it continues, but still does better than most Summer shows (which there...

    UTD: Season 2

Even the show is colossally bad, I bet they renew it. Although down quite a bit from last year, the ratings are still good compared to the other awful Summer network shows. The fact that Season 2 was announced in late June of last year does give a little pause though.

    UTD: Season 2

I would give it a chance. The current rewrite is to make The Gunslinger a bit more readable (I believe it was one of SK's original works, The Gunslinger was 5 short stories, and he hadnt hit is style yet and wasnt necessarily planning the entire epic story) and also adds to some continuity...

    UTD: Season 2

that post made me lol In order to enjoy this show, you have to completely suspend that voice that questions anything and come up with excuses/explanations for oversight. Once that voice really comes out the show is ruined. For me, it started, and the complete cliche cheesiness of an appliance...

    UTD: Season 2

Things like this ultimately turned me off to the show last year. Its just way too unbelievable the way people act and how things happen. Over and over. It is a giant source of criticism and ridicule you see everywhere on this show. I actually look forward to Tuesdays. I dont watch, but I...

    New The Stand movie.

I dont get it. 3 Hour movie will be as risky as a trilogy. Its tough to get people to sit still and pay attention to anything for that long. The Matrix trilogy and LtORs didnt really have strong ending points between movies. I think if The Stand was done well, it could captivate average Joes...

That ending - fair or unfair? Spoiler warning

I thought the ending was too "strong-handed" which overshadows the rest of the movie, which was really great and one of the top few adaptations of SK's work.

    End Under the Dome now!

ugh. Zombies. Never understood this fad. (Did enjoy "Cell") Anyways, IMO Mr King wont "end" the show even if he was contractually capable of doing it. What message would that send to people who later might be looking to pay money to adapt his stories? He also is on record saying he is all...

    Under the Dome: question

It doesn't surprise me in the least.

    UTD: Season 2

Are you really trying to explain to people that a series is telling a story over time to keep people tuning in? Who doesn't understand that?

    Review of The Stand mini-series

<<< Sheridan has that smile though. I think he is/was a great Flagg. I thought they did an outstanding job with The Stand, if you consider at the time, not much was done with this kind of scope... didnt have the great TV series like TWD and BB yet, LoTR was not made by Peter Jackson yet...

    This Book Is So Great!

When reading it, I kept thinking it would have made a slam dunk TV series on HBO, AMC, or Showtime. There were whispers of it right after it came out. I talked up the series/book a lot. I had to explain to a lot of people the series was not true to the novel what-so-ever. Mentioned it...

    This Book Is So Great!

I think Under the Dome is one of SK's greatest in modern-years. Very strong characters thrown in a very dire situation that magnified their characters. Huge book, but I couldnt put it down.

    Stephen King is a Hack

So people who do not work in the entertainment industry aren't allowed to criticize? I guess the same goes for people who compliment and/or enjoy television shows? They arent qualified to like it if they arent in "the biz"? I have not watched since the 5th episode. IMO it was poorly...

    Stephen King is a Hack

This proves my point on this awful series. People see it, its embarrassingly bad plot, terrible writing, and amateurish acting, and it immediately gets pinned on SK and wraps up the UTD Novel, which IMO is a wonderful ride. Things like this take little chunks out of SK's legacy, which IMO...
