    Struggling with Job Burnout

Thank you for all of your responses! I have done some research and I am trying to figure out the best balance for me. I don't want to give up being a therapist...I just need to figure out how to incorporate everything into a content lifestyle! I will keep you posted. Thanks for caring!

    Struggling with Job Burnout

I actually worked at a juvenile detention center for 4 years. I did psychological assessments and therapy. I became too emotionally involved and I put more pressure on myself to help those kids to not reoffend. I know it wasn't my responsibility, but sometimes it is a subconscious thing for me.

    Struggling with Job Burnout

Ms. Mod, I am honored by your reply and I thank you for your honesty! I do see a therapist (as suggested in grad school) and we have talked about it and we originally attributed to my low level anxiety and depression (genetic) and practicing better boundaries with patients. It just seems like a...

    I Don't Get It...What's the Big Deal?

I love this performance. Prince is very underrated for his guitar skills. I saw him in concert 2 years ago and he blew me away. He is a great songwriter, guitarist, and overall performer. I think some people cannot overlook his eccentricities and don't realize that he is a valued musician. I...

    Struggling with Job Burnout

Hi, friends! I know I post on our forum inconsistently. I wish I had more time to comment on all of the wonderful posts. I want to post something personal and see if anyone can help me. I am a psychotherapist (counselor) by trade and I have been practicing for over 10 years. I used to...

    Stephen King 101

I was perusing books at a used book sale. I overheard a young girl telling her parents all of the classic books she wants to read in addition to her school required books. If you taught an introductory educational course on Stephen King's prolific body of work, what would you choose to include...

The Walking Dead ***please use SPOILER tags***

I totally agree. Also, I've always wondered why Daryl looks like he needs to take a shower more than anyone else on the show and he never seems to mind that his hair is always in his eyes :disturbed: I know it is the zombie apocalypse, but he needs to take more advantage of Alexandra's...

Is It Best to Read the SK Books Sequentially?

I've read all of those, except Insomnia, which I am currently reading. I may reread them though, because I really enjoyed all of them. Rose Madder became a little strange toward the end, but I liked it. A reread would be good because I read them when I was fairly young (14, 15 years old) and it...

    Audiobook

Has anyone listened to the audiobook of Insomnia read by Eli Wallach? I am currently listening to it as well as reading it from the book at times. I have a hard time understanding his pronunciations at times, but I like that it is narrated by an older gentleman since Ralph is also an older...

    Answer the Question.

"Coming to America." It is one of my favorite movies and I always laugh at it as if it was the first time I saw it. Which actor/actress would you choose to play yourself in a movie about your life?

    What's Your Name?

Casey. Pronounced "kay-see" NOT "cass-see." I am not sure why people have a problem pronouncing it. Just sound it out!:baffle:

    New trend in SK works

Nadine, I could not have said it better myself. Raggedyman, don't ever apologize for giving your opinion. This is why I really like this forum because everyone seems to have an open mind and willing to hear everyone out.
