    The Strain

I know! I was pleasantly surpised when I realized someone finally managed to create something involving ”vampires” that is actually scary, and not plain stupid. I hope I didn't jinx the network, but look what happened to Deadwood for instance.

    The Strain

Ok, you read it here first: this series is so good they will probably cancel it after this season. The only disappointment this far is that the German nazi's spoke English (why?). Otherwise I am thrilled, and quite honestly a wee bit scared from time to time!

Bryan Singer Accuser Michael Egan Drops Sex Abuse Lawsuit (Update) - TheWrap I thought this stank from the beginning.

    Ken Bruen

During the summer months, lacking benzodiazepines, I plowed through a ton of different books from just as many authors. Some were decent reads that helped ease the surrounding crock of boiling feces known as ”life”. Some just fuelled my rage. Then I discovered Ken Bruen and my life changed. Um...

It's So Easy: and other lies - Duff McKagan

Did you have to wait three hours for Axl to show up?

It's So Easy: and other lies - Duff McKagan

Haven't read Stanley's book, but there are a lot of talk about money, and the mechanics behind the ”music business” in Duff's book. He went on to study... finance after he left Guns n' Roses!

    The Strain

I think this is a pretty good show. For once a horror show without show a lots of t!ts and a$$ just to get attention. Haven't read the books and I don't think I will.

It's So Easy: and other lies - Duff McKagan

Let's get it clear first that I am not, and have never been, a big fan of Guns n' Roses. There is no denying that Appetite for Destruction is a hell of an album, and I sure listened a lot to it back in the days. But apart from that I never really cared what they were up to, the following albums...

    The perfect number

Why? It's an absolute classic! Although I probably prefer Piece Of Mind.

    The perfect number

It's flattering with all the likes. Thank you very much, but I'd be glad if I could stay with this number:

    World Cup 2014

I'm glad Germany won. They played the best, and deserved the gold medal. Congratulations!

    It wasn't any coral reef......

I love sharks. Not to the extent that I would ever consider diving with them, I'd crap my swimsuit. The only time it would be justified for us to kill sharks would be if they got out of the water and started killing us.

Newb wondering how many books Stephen has read.

And that, my friends, is the reason I got myself an e-book reader! Welcome, by the way.

    World Cup 2014

I think Germany deserves to win. I have nothing against Argentina, but of all the teams I have seen in the tournament, Germany is the most solid. I don't think you need it, but here it goes anyway: Good luck!

    Andre Dubus III - Townie

Perhaps, if it weren’t already taken, a more suitable title for Dubus’ autobiography would have been ”A History of Violence”. The author and protagonist starts to fight as a boy, partly out of a necessity to defend himself and, as the oldest male in a single mother household, his family -...

    Sorry..gotta say the story again...

Srbo! Thanks for writing. You have obviously been through stuff I (and most of us) could only imagine, and then only in our nightmares. I'm glad you made it out alive.

    Nobody loves a critic.........

I don't know this person, but I hate heckling. It has to be the weakest behaviour possible for a human being. Do hecklers deserve to be shot? No, but perhaps smacked a little.

Marcus Sakey - A Better World

As I have mentioned elsewhere on this fine community, Marcus Sakey is one of my absolute favourite ”new” authors. A Better World is the second book in the Brilliance trilogy. A sci-fi series about people with a genetic mutation that makes them something of savants in different ways. That is the...
