I love the classics. But I have tried THREE TIMES to read Moby Dick and can't get through it. I. Give. Up.

Yes. I was SO impressed by it ... and equally impressed by how the people in the book are not caricatures, but are just ... people. Even the fundamentalist parents, who would have been so easy to make into either complete idiots or villains, are colored with all the crayons. I might have to read...

I haven't read any McCammon, but he's on my list, and this sounds so appealing to me.

Holy crap. This book. It's really, really good so far. So angry. So dark. Raw, real, and unflinching. Usually that kind of thing ... isn't my thing. But Matheson has made it so compelling.

I started I Am Legend (audiobook) today. Really effective, very dark. DARK.

Yeah, he hits it every once in a while, I think, so I get lured in from time to time and read another one of his, but I'm usually disappointed. Tons of people love his stuff, though. Oh well. Vive le difference!
