There were a few I hadn't heard before, partly I think because they are regional even within NE like the Rhode Island hot dog thing. Have only heard grinders used in Connecticut, otherwise they're subs or Italians. I grew up using hornpout instead of catfish, swiftdog2.0, so maybe it's a Maine thing--didn't even know that was a catfish. Just know it scared the crap out of me when I would catch one when I was a kid. ;-D

The Poconos do have some things in common with Maine. Middle of September means a trip this weekend to the hardware store for some shear pins and a replacement drive belt for the snowblower, taking out some trees you know won’t survive the winter and calling up a relative with a wood burning stove to haul away the wood, buying new snow tires, stock up at the liquor store, and picking up some sexy lingerie for the wife consisting of a flannel nightie with only 8 buttons and fleece socks. :)

LOL. I have my temporary emergency mailbox stored away with a couple of 4”x4” pressure treated posts. I buy the new mailboxes afterwards depending on the level of destruction. And I'll need to get some more numbered decals.

I will be picking up one of these though...

And a 60-inch long 18-pound wedge point crow bar because I’m tired of digging post holes in frozen ground.
