When I was a kid, our neighbors across the street could both lay claim to direct descendants from the Mayflower, the husband was a Putnam and his wife's nee name was Eaton. I always thought that was really cool, and they were such nice people too.
Nice people, as long as you didn't dabble in any witchcraft, right? :)

That'd be crabs for me - Depends on where you live.
Newspapers across the table. Beer and cooked crabs staring at you with beady eyes. Maryland. All Tri state area. But you knew where to go for crabs. I have much troubles eating something looking at me. So someone would have to break it while I looked away. Shuts up. I know.

I remember crabbing when little on a boat. Just a fish head tied to a sting.
eeeks.

All this lobster talk is making me want to do something drastic. I understand they ship Maine lobsters through Amazon now.
Have been told by relatives who researched it that we have lines to three of those who came over on the Mayflower. Never bothered joining the Daughters of the Mayflower Society, though. Those same relatives who'd done the genealogy were members.
That reminds me, for some reason my grandmother was obsessive about keeping extensive genealogical records, newspaper clippings and photos dating back to the nineteenth century. Perfectly preserved photos of Canadian farmhouses, New England cottages - too many commas no predicate, I know. My point is that I have all of it preserved in large plastic containers. Every once in a while I pull the genealogical stuff out and look at it. I treasure those photos too, I keep thinking that someday I will do something with it.
I know she wanted me to.
yeah, a lobsta roll....
Speaking of lobster rolls, as a fellow Phoenecian, you should know about The Maine Lobster Company here. It's a food truck launched in part by the investors on Shark Tank. You can find it on Saturdays at the big farmers market on the 101 and (I want to say Camelback) all they serve are lobster rolls done right! Two varieties: butter or mayo. - fresh Maine lobster, not that clawless rock variety. It may park closer to Mesa sometimes. Worth checking out! Delicious.
