My lists of things to watch on Netflix and Amazon tell me I won't have a problem with this. My 'recommended' lists confirm that. Plus we have the movie package now on NowTV (streaming service via Sky (satellite TV) which we used to have but binned because NowTV is about 1/7th of the price for all the best stuff).
I'm going to be afraid to go outside come 1/11 (that's the 1st of November if you insist on doing things backwards, not the 11th of January :biggrin2:).

How about this one fushingfeef ?

I recorded it because Billy Connolly was in it (a Scottish actor) and thought Andy would get a kick out of it but alas he did not find it either funny or enjoyable - oh well - I thought it was quite good so if I watch it again I am definitely going to count it!
I loved Fido! Definitely count it!

I picked up a few new blu rays today in anticipation of October...some good ol' stuff, and something new!

Ok!! since saturday just started here i have finished my first......
#1 The Exorcist (1973) An old classic to send me in the right direction so to speak. Had totally forgot that archaeology dig in the opening scene.... What a parody on how a dig is done! I was actually horrified, i promise! But otherwise it was still as good as i remembered

None yet. I started watching Saw. Don't even know what number and I had to turn it off, it was so bad. Think I'll stick to the classics this year. Gotta catch up on American Horror Story then decide tonight what the line up may be.

Kicked off my marathon at midnight last night!

1. The Boy (FTV)
Woman on the run from an abusive relationship lands the perfect job at a remote creepy mansion as the nanny to a strange old couple's little boy. Only problem is that the boy isn't a living human, he's a creepy porcelain-faced life-sized doll. When the elderly couple goes on holiday and leaves the nanny and the doll-boy alone, strange things start to happen. This movie pushes all the right buttons, with a gorgeously creepy old house which manages to be large and claustrophobic at the same time, and some unsettling moments with the titular boy-doll. My only gripe is that all of this just seems too familiar, so don't expect new ground to be broken. But as part of this October horror movie marathon, this film fits like a comfortable creepy old pair of slippers.

3.5 out of 5 stars.

Does anyone know if any channels or networks are doing a marathon of SK movies this month? I think last year Starz did one....off to search.

The channel Chiller is getting ready to run the 4 part mini series of The Stand. In about an hour! I don't think I've ever watched the whole thing. So that will be on my list this year.

1. Sacrifice -- NEW -- This was a new one for me. Never before seen.

  • "Sacrifice is the story of consultant surgeon, Tora Hamilton, who moves with her husband, Duncan, to the remote Shetland Islands, 100 miles off the north-east coast of Scotland. Deep in the peat soil around her new home, Tora discovers the body of a young woman with rune marks carved into her skin and a gaping hole where her heart once beat. Ignoring warnings to leave well alone, Tora uncovers terrifying links to a legend that might never have been confined to the pages of the story-books."

Not bad. I've seen a lot worse, so, this was a decent story.

AMC had a couple (of horror movies, that is) - I watched part of "The Hills Have Eyes" but cannot count that one as I did not see the beginning.

I'm recording "Graveyard Shift" but as it only got 1 1/2 stars I'm not sure if it will be worth it.

That one IS based on a Stephen King story

1. The Two Faces Of Dr. Jekyll (1960) Christopher Lee, Paul Massie

Hammer Films adaptation of Dr. Jekyll. This is a very good version and there is an interesting twist to this one as Mr. Hyde is more handsome and outgoing than Dr. Jekyll. Christopher Lee is very good as Jekyll’s friend with awesome sideburns. 7/10

2. Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde (1941) Spencer Tracy, Ingrid Bergman, Lana Turner

The Hammer Films version was so good that it made me want to watch another version. I had dvr-ed this one a long time ago and hadn’t watched it yet so there was no better time than now. I read that this one was released too soon after the 1931 version and audiences in 1941 didn’t appreciate the movie as much as they should have. But 75 years later, who cares, the movie is awesome. Spencer Tracy’s Mr. Hyde is chilling. 8/10

I think all of us think the same thing when we see our professions portrayed in the movies.
