41. The Tingler -- I just love The Tingler.

"The film tells the story of a scientist who discovers a parasite in human beings, called a "Tingler", which feeds on fear. The creature earned its name by making the spine of its host "tingle" when the host is frightened."

42. The Abominable Dr. Phibes -- Phibes is da man.

"The film follows the title character, Phibes, who blames the medical team that attended to his wife for her death four years prior and sets out to exact vengeance on each one using the plagues of Egypt. Phibes is inspired in his murderous spree by the Ten Plagues of Egypt from the Old Testament."

1-10. All of the "Halloween" movies from the John Carpenter original thru the Rob Zombie remakes.

11. The Conjuring

12. The Conjuring 2

13. All Hallows Eve...gratuitous clown murder movie. Not great, but entertaining.

14. Lords of Salem....My 4th time watching this one, still clueless as to what it's actually about.

15. Trick or Treat. 1986 movie about satanic rock star who returns from the dead and shoots lightning bolts from his guitar. The cheese was pretty thick on this movie...

16. The Faculty. One of the better soundtracks I've ever heard in a movie, and a great Sci-Fi horror flick to boot.

17. Disturbing Behavior. Similar to The Faculty. Nick Stahl and William Sadler. I'm convinced William Sadler is one of the most underrated actors. He seems to be able to play any role very well.

18. The Black River Vampire. Not terrible, they were definitely trying to go the way of "The Blair Witch Project" but I like those kind of movies. A bit of a bizarre ending. Rosemary's Baby meets a Twilight Zone episode....

19. The Thing (1982). Wouldn't be a true horror movie marathon without this one.

20. Wrong Turn. Hadn't watched this one in a while. Hillbilly cannibals and extremely hot female leads, including Eliza Dushku. Not much not to like in this one.

21. The Hills Have Eyes (2006). Debated on letting my son watch this one with me last night but gave in. I remembered this one being a little heavy on the violence side but then my son reminded me I had let him watch the Rob Zombie versions of Halloween less than a week ago....hard to argue with that logic. Wasn't as horrific as I remembered it to be and still a good movie. Found myself giggling at some of the over the top violence....WTH is wrong with me....lol

22. House of 1000 Corpses.

23. I Spit On Your Grave (2010 version with Sarah Butler). Hadn't seen this one in a while. Helluva revenge movie.

24. The Cabin In The Woods. Seen this one several times but still just as weird.

25. DEF-CON 4. 1985 post nuclear war type movie with cannibal humanoids. Campy but watchable.

26. The Vatican Tapes. This one was just coming on cable when I woke up this morning which gave me an excuse to stay in bed. Not a bad movie, ending was solid.

27. Grave Encounters. I'm not sure how I missed this one but other than the classics I've watched so far, this makes #1 on my list of horror movies I've watched so far for the marathon. Paranormal "Ghost Hunters" show producers enter a huge abandoned mental asylum. Sounds like it's been done before but they make it work very well. Solid movie.

28. Grave Encounters 2. Whoever produced this movie obviously didn't consult the formula for the first Grave Encounters. This one was was boring from start to finish.

29. Hell comes To Frogtown. Post apocalyptic movie starring "Rowdy" Roddy Piper...enough said. Piper has to rescue a group of fertile women from a mutant leader who resembles a frog in order to try and repopulate the planet...he also has to perform said rescue with a bomb strapped to his junk. There's an Oscar plot somewhere in this one..;) Barely stayed up long enough to finish this one last night. Last peek at the clock showed 12:55am....

30. Extraterrestrial. Another sci/fi horror flick. Same director who did Grave Encounters directed this movie. Not much new here as far as the alien abduction genre but the aliens are quite a bit more violent which was kind of cool. Some good splatter kills, worth watching.

31. The Gallows. I wish I could buy back 90 minutes of my life. Pretty much bored the whole time but my son seemed interested in it so I sat thru it. Definitely meant for a younger crowd not so much for an old grouchy horror movie veteran....

32. The Entity (1982). I found this one going thru my old DVDs. Still a pretty good demon movie. Worth a watch. Barbara Hershey does a good job.

33. Madison County (2011). Another of my stored DVD finds.
index.php
This movie was shot one county east of where I live. I watched it a few years ago but couldn't remember if it was any good or not. Turns out it wasn't completely terrible. A lot of familiar roads and landmarks. Some scenes were shot here in Fayetteville and others were shot over in Madison County near a very small speck on the map called Oark. Basic backwoods horror movie plot but reasonably well done.

34. Evil Dead (2013). Good re-make. I very much liked this one.

35.The Exorcist III: Legion. Hadn't watched this one in a few years. Brad Dourif does an excellent job in this movie.

36.Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. Good gore factor but I still like the original sequel better with Dennis Hopper.

37.Body Bags. 1993 horror anthology by John Carpenter. I hadn't seen this one in many years, I remember why now. The stories weren't terrible but I think they were more concerned with celebrity cameos than story substance.

38. Ghost Story. Other than Craig Wasson's voice, this is still a very creepy movie.

39. Nightbreed (Director's Cut). Some very good added material to the original theater version.

40. Village of the Damned (1960). Classic. Still a creepy movie. I was surprised my son sat thru this one but I think he actually liked it.

41. Mockingbird. Oh goodness....as much of a pleasant surprise that "Grave Encounters" was, this is at the opposite end of the spectrum. It was on Netflix and was made by Blumhouse Productions, same company who have put out some of the better horror movies over the last few years. Dark Skies, Sinister, The Conjuring, all Blumhouse Production movies. They must have produced this one as a favor to a family member or something. Sheeshhhh.

42. For a finale on our marathon tonight we watched Stephen King's The Shining (1997) version from start to finish. My son had never seen it and he seemed enthralled with the whole movie so that was cool. I grilled some burgers since it was a somewhere around 82 degrees today. The weather is about as opposite as you can get for Halloween. It feels like 4th of July weather instead of Halloween. We've both enjoyed the marathon this year, it's been a welcome distraction for both of us that we both needed. He's got to watch a lot of good movies that a more responsible parent probably wouldn't have let him watch but I started watching horror movies at a very young age and I turned out ok.....nevermind, bad example...anyway, we've both had a good time and he's now requested to read The Shining, so another possible constant reader may be in the works. Everyone have a safe Halloween and watch out for clowns, in sewers, chasing people up and down the road...and zombies. Always watch out for zombies:)

Fright Night (1985)--a modern classic for me. I love this movie so much (though I still can't bring myself to look at Lipless, even over 30 years after the movie was released *shudder*

The Crow (1994)--Eh. It was okay. Overrated, to my mind, but it did have a good soundtrack. I liked the GN better.

Watched a movie called "Wind Chill" directed by George Clooney and with an actress named Emily Blunt

Pretty good flick overall - I'd give it a 5/5

Two college students share a ride together and take a "short-cut" - end up on a road haunted by the people who died there - very moody, lots of suspense

I thought it was pretty good

I had some serious catching up to do, but luckily hubby has been on nights (only time you're going to hear me be thankful for night shifts! :D) so I watched movies all weekend.

24. The Box (2009) ftv
I liked the beginning and up til it was revealed that
it was some other-worldly being doing everything.
I would have liked it more if it had been a straight up social experiment type thing. And I hated Cameron Diaz's fakey fake Southern accent and all her pouty facial expressions. She has never been a big favorite of mine but she truly irritated me in this movie.

25. Logan's Run (1976)
Probably more sci fi than horror, but I remember seeing it around age 13 or so and it freaked me out then, so I'm counting it. Not so freaky scary this time around, but the kids all watched with me and they enjoyed it.

26. The Seventh Victim (1943) ftv
Girl goes to find her missing sister and finds she is mixed up with a Satanic cult. Very dark and moody.

27. The Corpse Vanishes (1942)
Someone (Bela Lugosi) is going around killing brides on their wedding days and stealing their bodies right from the churches. I enjoyed it, liked the ending a bunch.

28. Scream (1996)
Love this movie. The sequels all were mostly bad, but this first one was genius.

29. Macabre (1958) ftv
A William Castle movie. Someone has kidnapped a Dr.'s little girl and buried her alive as revenge. I liked this one a lot, except for I thought some of the tangents taken while they are searching for the girl were slightly dumb. Oh, let's stop looking for her while we have a funeral for someone else. I found that completely unbelievable. But I liked the flashbacks that told the backstory and really liked the cop who wasn't such a good guy, himself.

30. Nightlight (2015)
This one was just ok, parts of it were good, but parts were boring. A group of teens go to the woods and something or someone starts picking them off. Pretty formulaic, reminded me a little of Blair Witch, especially towards the end. Ok once, but probably won't seek it out again.

One more to go! I think I have Halloween set to record today, but I don't think I will be brave enough to watch it tonight after trick or treating, by myself. ;-D Have a few others recorded, too. So we will see what I decide on!
