Okay after downing Chiller channel I find another one that was pretty good on it. This one had Dennis Quaid as a lunatic mortician. Of course nobody knows that and thinks the kids are crazy for hating on him just because they see him dancing with a corpse and he catches them in his house and... nope. This time I'm not telling. It's good though. You empathize with the kids nobody believes. It is tense too. Not everybody makes it but it isn't one of these cut and slash boring yeah yeah another head rolls off same old crap movies. It's a thriller.

I've wondered about that one! Thanks for the snapshot review, Scratch

17) The Dark Tower (2017)-What the heck! It had Taheen and McConacuckoo, and that's horror enough for me to count it :) I liked it just as much as I did in the theater, and Nick absolutely loved it (as I thought he would).

18) Castlevania-4 episodes, so that should count as a movie, right? From imdb:"A vampire hunter fights to save a besieged city from an army of otherworldly creatures controlled by Dracula." I'm not sure whether I liked this or not, to be honest. Not a huge anime fan, but I'll give it a few more eps and see if it hooks me. FTV

I bought The Girl With All The Gifts on VUDU at the same time as I bought Dark Tower, so I'll hopefully get to it tomorrow :)

19) Can I count three episodes of Mindhunter (2017)? It's pretty damned horrifying, and very interesting. Not a big fan of the lead actor--his performance is too stagey--or the sex with his girlfriend because who cares? I'm not 12 and getting titillated by a a boob or a butt shot and hearing a few naughty words. WhatEVer. The show, though, is very good

I think it was established several years ago that we could count multiple episodes of a TV show as one listing. (For example, I counted two episodes at a time of The Walking Dead and American Horror Story - each about 40-45 minutes plus.) Since most movies run about 1 1/2 + hours long.

32. Comforting Skin -- New

"A lonely young woman's desperate need for emotional and sexual companionship draws her into a surreal and ultimately destructive relationship with a shifting and whispering tattoo she has willed to life on her skin."

Good god, this was bad. If you want to see a film where the lead woman is naked probably 50% of the movie and she has sex with her tattoo, this is the story. She also takes a bath with pop rocks.

this thread and the description of some of these movies has led to some real wtf moments

at a friends house yesterday, and for the sake of their kid, got in some more kid friendly fare

10. It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown - something i haven't seen in years, and upon rewatching yesterday, i realized, a lot of the things these kids say and do is awful mature for the age they're supposed to be lol

11. Goosebumps - based (very loosely) on R.L. Stines series of books, this movie finds the author living under an assumed name in a small town, it turns out that he writes everything on a magic typewriter that somehow brings all his monsters to life, which are then locked up in special books to contain them. due to a series of circumstances, said creatures get loose, and havoc is wreaked. this is a comedy, which was an interesting way to take it, but it wasn't too bad. jack black is Stine, and i can't say i recognized too many others, except the new kids aunt, played by the woman from Workaholics and other comedy fare, who is an interesting choice to stick in a kids movie, considering her usual style, which was somewhat toned down, but still present. there was a funny joke or two about Stephen King, and at one point the author rails on about how he's definitely a better writer than King. i can only hope that was a screenwriter being silly and not what the real Stine thinks. there was also what i'm assuming was a cameo by Stine at the end (i don't know what he looks like off hand, and it was very quick), in the form of newly minted temp english teacher Stine greeting drama teacher Mr. Black (black plays stine, stine plays black). it's not cinematic brilliance, but it's a good time, and one of the more bearable things the young ones in your life can make you sit through.

That was the real R.L. Stine :) I thought that one was okay, too. I've certainly sat through worse kids' shows

24. Tucker and Dale vs Evil.

Tucker and Dale just want to do a little fishing at Tuckers recently purchased cabin in the woods but these college kids who have seen too many slasher flicks keep bumping into them and making rash assumptions. This one turns every horror trope on it's head. Folks, this is hilarious. See it. They innocently start to fish at night but one girl gets atop a rock and takes her cloths off to skinny dip then sees them and freaks falling into the water and bumping her head. They save her and see the friends so they shout "we have your friend" helpfully but the kids run off screaming and it gets much worse from there. A comedy of fatal errors but still counts as horror because the way they die is still horrible. I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. I guess the fact I did says something unsavory about me but YOU try not to laugh at this.

One of my favorites! I think we might have some similar tastes in movies :) In the same vein, if you can find it try You Can't Kill Stephen King. Though it didn't have actors anywhere near as good as Alan Tudyk and Taylor Labine, I laughed a lot.

Neesy's List

1. Son of Dracula
2. Alias Grace (well, what happened to her was horrible)
3. Arachnophobia
4. House of the Witch - teenagers trapped in abandoned house on Hallowe'en are terrorized by a witch
5. Carrie (at the motel last night) - the one from a couple of years ago
6. My Soul to Take (on SyFy right now).
7. It (second viewing at the theatre tonight).
8. Nightmare on Elm Street 3 at the hotel in Deer River MN.
9. Messages Deleted (2010) was on TV today - more of a mystery than a horror but there were some gory parts.
10. Pay the Ghost (2015) with Nicolas Cage - a professor frantically searches for his son who was abducted during a Hallowe'en parade.
11. Child's Play - sort of watched it but mainly it was on because son and GF were watching it - seemed kind of silly to me.
12. Silver Bullet - on AMC
13. Christine (yup - that one with the classic car)
14. Thinner (Die well, white man from town).
15. Blood Honey - Tortured by the memory of a childhood trauma, a woman returns after a decade to her family's fly-in hunting lodge to assist her siblings with their dying father, only to find herself stuck in a life threatening nightmare.
16. Firestarter - on AMC with George G. Scott, Martin Sheen, Art Carney & Louise Fletcher etc. - forgot how many well known actors were in this one.
17. I watched an episode of Hoarders on TV - this lady had 50 cats!
18. The Curse of Frankenstein - from 1957 with Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.
19. Texas Chainsaw Massacre - was on TV today - the one from 1974 which I originally saw at the drive in (probably around 1980) - it was a double feature with the original Carrie movie.
20. AMC is still showing Fearfest so today I watched Christine - John Carpenter director, great music and of course the car.
21. The Green Mile - re-recording it, as the last time I had it in the DVR was 11/25/16 - it's on right now on Movie Channel.

(Been there, done that! Especially during this marathon. I usually give up on at least half the movies I start - especially on Netflix. But I keep on keeping on in October. ;-D )
This was brutal. And for those who are interested, here's how it ends:

naked girl with tattoo cuts her toes off. Yes. THat's the ending to the movie. She cuts her toes off.

Tales From the Crypt, the HBO series, had one about an evil tattoo which was quite good and so I thought this one would sort of be good like that. I was so very very wrong.

44.) The Disappointments Room (2016)

Someone else watched this, but I can't remember who it was or what they thought of the movie. The plot was very good, but not executed well. Someone should revisit a story like this someday. Kate Beckinsale was lovely as always ghost19 . ;-D
Wow! I am only doing one movie per day - that is how I know which day it is - the number of the movie coincides with the date ;;D:laugh:
