2017 SKMB October Horror Movie Marathon!

Wow! I am only doing one movie per day - that is how I know which day it is - the number of the movie coincides with the date

I don't have access to a TV all the time, so I check out a lot of DVDs from the library. (And I don't have much of a life either LOL. I consider this marathon a personal challenge - a goal I can actually achieve! )

I watched this one too Kurben, and quite liked it actually just for the Irish setting and the actors. I thought the male lead did an excellent job. He was all in when it came to working this.

Here is my "horror story" - just found out I need to work 3 years, nine months and 10 more days before I get my "magic 80" or date I can retire from HSC with a full pension

21. Tales of Halloween (FTV)
Ten hilariously gory tales centered around Halloween. Now if you've seen horror anthologies, you might be groaning "Ten films?" but by the end of this one you'll just be wanting more. I've seen horror anthologies before, and I've seen funny segments in horror anthologies, but I don't think I've seen a horror anthology as consistently comedic as this one. Some might complain that there is no "serious" horror to be found in this movie, but there are a few scares, and the emphasis is on fun and entertainment. Look for multiple cameos of horror directors, or don't. Only one or two of these stuck out as being a bit weak, but the stories come at you so fast it really doesn't matter. I could see myself re-watching this movie every Halloween because it just puts you in a great mood and ready for our favorite holiday.

I watched this one too Kurben, and quite liked it actually just for the Irish setting and the actors. I thought the male lead did an excellent job. He was all in when it came to working this.

Yeah, he was. Did all he could with the story.

33. Funhouse

"Four teenage friends spend the night in a carnival funhouse and are stalked by a deformed man in a Frankenstein mask."

This is an old 1981 movie I saw at the drive-in. And it freaked me right the f out. That horny, drooly funhouse guy was scary and a person felt great sympathy for him. Poor baby.

In my opinion, this was a damn near perfect adaptation. If not perfect. I thought it was so well done. Brilliant.

Re-watch. It's time for some dark comedy/thrillers. The darkness is getting to me, folks. I wonder what Rose McGowan is up to these days. Always thought she might be a little creepy and weird in real life (and that isn't necessarily a bad thing ).

30. Geralds Game (2017) FTV Much better than i thought a movie based upon that story could be. It is such an innie of a story. It is a good adaption And Carla Gugino is great as the woman (Jessie) in handcuffs. I'm not sure why it works but it does. 4/5

I've seen this one so many times! I've always liked Fairuza Balk. She's the perfect combo of pretty and spooky (those eyes! ). She was so good in American History X and The Island of Dr. Moreau (and The Waterboy LOL). I need to watch more of her movies.

Re-watch. Too unsettling due to all of the school violence since this came out. It was nostalgic to see a young Christian Slater and Winona Ryder. Wish I could re-watch Beetlejuice this month.

It is every bit as good as folks have said it is. A father learns what is most important in life amid a carnage of death. A very well written and well acted story. A zombie outbreak brings out the best and worst in people on the train to Busan. I admit I got a little something in my eye at the end. I don't do that with many movies and almost no horrors. See it. It's damn good.

We watched this one just tonight! It's like the old Goosebumps show with more gore and cursing--lol. I liked it a lot
