One of my friends who happens to be First Nations was making bannock one day and I watched her. When
it came out of the oven I tried one; well two; okay 3, but that was my limit :a11:. I asked her for the recipe
and she said I don't know what to tell you; I have made it so many times I don't measure anymore I just
use my hand to see if the amount of the ingredient looks right. Damn!!

When Andy came to Canada he heard about 'bannock' made by the Metis. He was surprised, as he says they have bannock back home, too. I wonder if the Scottish settlers had anything to do with the First Nations/Metis learning how to make this dish.
