I have to say I am not a big fan of the abstract, though I really liked the one blunt posted,Lucifer,at the opening of the thread..maybe my imagination just doesn't accept a lot of the art,but I can dig the colors and shapes, just, most don't really make me want to purchase them as a print..I tend to like the impressionists,Monet,Renoir,etc..art is so personal, what one person likes, the next person thinks is not good..

I'm not sure what art is included under the abstract umbrella. Much of it I've never cared much for, though I suspect were I to study it more I'd realize why it's taken seriously.

Good point. I know most people say they are brilliant, but 2 famous paintings I don't like are van Gogh's starry night and munch's the scream.

I guess I just prefer art to look like what it's supposed to be. The Mona Lisa for example.

Give me Bob Ross and his happy little trees any day.

On a bob Ross/stephen king related note, anyone think he was reading the gunslinger when he painted this?
