I recently dipped into On Writing to check on something and found myself reading about adverbs. Yes, those things that can feel like a pebble in your shoe. It was interesting and I paraphrase one of SK's comments as follows:
'I can be a good sport about adverbs,' he said clearly. I wondered what SK would say about this? Probably laugh, I suspect!
