One of my shelves on Goodreads is titled "re-evaluation". I've got a few books on there.Checkman, I totally agree with how your perspective changes. That is why it's important to re read things you either didn't like or really understand.
Who the hell reads books for the endings? That would be your first mistake. No since he has said he already knows the ending.
I've read twenty-eight books in the last six months. Seven of which were King re-reads. I'm on the same page as you.I have so many books that if I read a new one every week, I would never get to them all before my life is done....
but I still reread my favorite Stephen King books on a regular basis.
That sentence made perfect sense to me. Therefore, I find nothing wrong with it!I most always re-read. Like mustangclaire said way back in one of the first posts, I read the first time quick-quick probably because I am excited.
Then I go back and really re-read what I already read when I read it fast..
*(I will not change that last sentence. It deserves some sort of non grammar award, and it will stay as written.)
Lately I've been re-reading a lot of Kings books I have not read in over twenty years. It's amazing what you take away from a story once you have a bit more age and experience on you.
I tried to say this sentence three times fast but I split my tongue and blew off my cheeks.....I most always re-read. Like mustangclaire said way back in one of the first posts, I read the first time quick-quick probably because I am excited.

Very true. And it is AMAZING what you forget. When I read the Dead Zone a year or so ago it was like reading it for the first time (almost) i remembered big chunks that was totally new to me. And i thought i had such a good remembrance of that book....absolutely, totally agree with that statement.......... plus i pick up details on the second or third pass that clarify relationships and situations i missed on the first pass. with my memory trashed due to my age rereading a tale from my past is sometimes almost the same as reading for the first time.
